Home from home challenge
I took a relaxed and fun approach to designing the logo for the Home from Home campaign. I wanted the brand imagery to feel homemade, with rough edges that were reminiscent of spending an afternoon crafting with the kids at the kitchen table. This helped reinforce the message of the campaign: the ability to fundraise from home, while also highlighting the important work that first responders do from their own homes.
To support the messaging, I created a custom set of friendly and playful illustrations in-house. These illustrations were designed to show light-hearted and fun fundraising ideas, and I made sure they aligned with NARS’ existing brand identity while adding a distinctive playfulness to appeal to families and schools.
I applied these assets across a PDF fundraising pack, social media images, and an email newsletter to help launch the campaign. The illustrations opened up a wide range of design possibilities, opportunities that wouldn’t have been possible with limited photography, especially during the campaign’s development in 2021, right in the middle of COVID-19.
